The Großvenediger is the main mountain of the Venediger group in the Hohe Tauern on the border with East Tyrol in Salzburg. At 3,666 m, it is the sixth highest mountain in Austria. The origin of the name is still unclear. This is how the name is said to have been created by merchants from Venice. The view to Venice is also possible.
